It organizes in Paris a screening called “Animathèque” (monthly from 1975 to 2006, and every two months from October 2006) and The French Animated Film Festival. It publishes a Newsletter every three months, as well as specialized litterature about the subject, occasionally. It also proposes professional meetings, a web site (www.afca.asso.fr) and documentation including a video library.

AFCA counts more than 250 members and also represents the International Animated Film Association (ASIFA) in France as Asifa-France group.

Since 2002, it also organizes the « Animation Celebration » : coordination of 250 events related to animation (screenings, exhibitions, workshops...) that take place all over France during two weeks by the end of October (including the 28th, the International Animation Day). AFCA is also in charge for ASIFA to coordonate the International Animation Day all over the world (about 40 different countries participating on all 5 continents).
